CTR^2 Summer Program

Main content start

The CTR^2 Summer Program is an immersive, interactive, outreach opportunity to develop problem solving skills and the tools necessary for state-of-the-art research in engineering, fluid mechanics and turbulence in particular, while learning about computations and experimental work at the Center for Turbulence Research. The program will engage advanced undergraduate students and community college students, including those from communities underserved in STEM.

CTR^2 Summer Program 2025

Turbulence is all around us: in the atmosphere, the ocean, in pipes, on aircraft wings and in engines. Many of the environmental or energy related issues we face today cannot be addressed without quantitative knowledge of the mechanics of fluid flows. Interested in learning more about turbulence, why it arises and how to model it? The CTR^2 Summer Program participants will undertake a rich curriculum introducing techniques to address complex technical problems and developing interactive computational and experimental experiences in partnership with CTR researchers. There is no fee to attend.  We invite students interested in learning more about fluid mechanics, turbulence and state-of-the-art research to apply.
